Niche of the ohio lamprey
The Ohio Lamprey fills different niches at different times of its life. The larvae consume microscopic organisms. Juveniles develop their infamous mouth parts, having them act as a parasite to most common fish. Upon reaching sexual maturity, the Lamprey no longer consumes food.
